In April the time has come, the agreements with the growers have been made, the agricultural land has been prepared for sowing, the sowing plan has been written, it is time to sow!
Hemp seed from a number of different EU-approved industrial fiber hemp varieties is ordered every spring. A sowing plan is then drawn up, which describes which variety and batch will be used on which plot. Our end products are therefore traceable right down to the seed!
In the second half of April, the first hemp seed goes into the ground, the chance of night frost is small and the soil is no longer too wet to sow due to the warmer weather.
This year we will sow with a new combination. A sowing combination with a 6 meter spading machine from Imants and a 6 meter seed drill from Horsch! The tillage and sowing is done in one pass, naturally pulled and driven by 1 of our Claas Xerion’s 4000. Truly a picture!
